It's been a while, but I believe I rotated the sketch by using constraints (in this case, I think I applied a Horizontal constraint to the sketch centerline).

Also, not sure who at SolidWorks you talked to, but if you fix say, a point, of the derived sketch, you can drag and rotate the derived sketch to any orientation you wish.

Thanks for reading!

Re: CADFanatic’s Tips & Tricks Tuesday – Derived Sketches

Sorry Again,
For the orientation
It works with Tool/Sketch Tool/Modify.

My boss told me ;-)

Should maybe be added in the text...

Re: CADFanatic’s Tips & Tricks Tuesday – Derived Sketches

Sorry,
I tried it and it can't change the orientation.
I asked Solidworks about it and they told me its not possible to rotate the derived sketch.
Only to drag and place. SW even proposed me to ask for an enhancement request for this issue.

Re: Social Media Comments Coming to a Disqus-enabled Blog Near You!

Speaking of which, a slew of plugins and widgets can also be added to
one's blog. The software worked very well for a few weeks then all of a sudden it is taking (literally - I timed it) 5+ minutes to initially launch the software. After it is open - the system is so slow, it takes forever to do anything productive. I'm using a quad core (Q6600) intel processor with 8G RAM along with an NVIDIA QuadroFX 4500 dual GPU with 1GB DDR3 RAM video card. Windows Ultimate 64 Bit is the OS. Strangely enough my SW 2011 & SW2010 are also operating very slow. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated. I've reinstalled the software several times - it boots & works great ..... only the first time it's launched.

Re: Social Media Comments Coming to a Disqus-enabled Blog Near You!

If you would have
told marketing gurus a few years back that social media websites where going to
be where all the action was going be focused, they may have looked at you like
you were crazy. Today millions of people use social media sites on a daily
basis. These types of sites have such an incredibly consistent draw of users
that social marketing has turned into one of the hottest and most effective
ways to market your business.
